While all of you folks know about the main duties of an CceanMaster- answering petitions and addressing complaints, you may not know about one of the less frequent, but most important jobs that I take very seriously as an OM: animal adoption.
Now and again, I get a petition from a person that picked the wrong color pet from the palace shoppe, or did not mean to purchase a pet at all. I refund their money and pick the pet up off their hands, but what then? The poor animal has no place to go, and 'Trash' is simply not an option.
Thankfully as an OceanMaster, I have access to an allotted sum set aside for unwanted animal care. OOMPAH, or Overseeing OceanMasters for the Protection of Animals' Happiness, has given me access to vessels to house these creatures. I've even named some of them in honor of their humble beginnings.
I can hear what you're asking. "But Hypnos," you might say, "What about tournaments? Can't you find these animals loving homes by putting them up as prizes?"
"Haha, well young pirate," I would answer, "you have to put that in the form of a petition. Go to the YE tab, press the HELP button, then press PETITION. I'm not answering tells."

My girlfriend rescues random pets from the Inn, maybe you two should meet up so as to further the lives of more unwanted pets.
On a side note, drop into Lucafira's townhouse on Admiral Island, Sage, and see how may pets there are...

See, this is why Hypnos is me favorite OM. He doesn't just 'Trash' the abandoned pets, like other OMs would do, he gives them a comfortable home. He even let the turtle sleep under his bed. What a great guy.
...You might want to take the mask off, though. I think it's scaring the animals.
Oh and Hypnos, have you been getting the hellos I've been telling other OMs to give you?
And whatever happened to Hypnos's Office Hour? Is that still going, or am I just never on when you go to Midnight?

My Tailor Shoppe has been home to some discarded cats. First it was just my manager leaving his own weirdly named collection, but now we've had some others donated. There is some kind of limit to each scene, so next I'll be filling the upstairs with kitties. I'm becoming known as the Cat Lady.... *meow*

decided to finally read some of the articles in spyglass while just sitting and chatting with a cancer patient/hearty of mine and came across your posts. Loved the questionnaire, especially the part about Nyx ( my other middy pirate is goddessnyx).
BUT tis the unwanted animal post that got my heart. A year or so ago I bought a pig by mistake, I thought I was changing colors or something like a sheep or dog, but alas, I have a pig. Petition for my poe back? Complain or trash? NEVER!! His name? Pork Belly Spending =D Have adopted several pets on cobalt from pirates who no longer play/subscribe so they don't have to sit in booties. And in RL, after having lost a dog to a car hit when running from the vet and eventually adopted another from a shelter.
