A Monstrous Team Competition

For the duration of the Summer Games, we will be holding a Team Competition with something of an Olympic feel. Players will be allocated to the following teams:

Cyclops: Keep your eye on the prize!
Gorgon: It's game face time!
Cerberus: Victory will take dogged determination!
Hydra: Put your heads together!
Minotaur: You're a giant bull. Get on with it.

While not everyone will answer the siren call of the Pirate Summer Games, no Pirate worth their name can pass up the chance to test themselves in head to head combat with another Pirate. So, as in previous events, scoring for the Team Competition will be based on the victories won by Pirates from each team in one on one challenges.

But wait, there's more! In addition to points for winning challenges, your team will also score (big!) based on how you and your team mates do in the Summer Games. Participate and earn glory for you and your team!

You are automatically assigned to a team. Check the "competition" tab on the Notice Board to see your team assignment and current team ranking.

I Agrees with Sydax, now does one enter competitions when the puzzle doesn't come up? For example Bilge and Blacksmith didn't get anything coming up like in drinking or swordfighting.

Is there a way to see who all competed and how everyone scored or ranked for each competition? It would be nice for all the ones that didn't win the top 3-4 spots to still see how they did. Are all oceans competing as one or does each ocean have its own competition?

I agree with Shellyrene. After puzzling for 2 hours in crafting skills, to only see the winners posted was disappointing. No mention of what craft the puzzle winners were in either. This felt like a waste of 2 hours.

Honestly, these stupid competitions are getting ridiculous. How about solving the actual problems on the site instead of all this extra bull. Perhaps fix the lag so it stays fixed, perhaps fix the algorithm that puts out the so called random cards in each card game. Or how the sound cuts out Talk about a site that shouldn't use the Olympics to forward their own needs. Many people on this site are the complete opposite of what the olympics stand for.

This is fairly ridiculous. Generally, Puzzle Pirates does a really friendly job explaining how to play. Summer Games is an exercise in frustration. Please make the bloody effort and post some reasonable and clear [full] instructions on how to participate. I click the join button in the games dialog under Ahoy. The only instructions it gives is to go and puzzle. So I join the navy and start gunning. No confirmation that I'm doing anything correctly, and as it turns out, I'm not. None of your Summer Games related pages provide instructions either. Clumsily done.

1. First go to Tournamentboard to join or sometimes it shows up at Ahoy 2. Then wait till it's time to do the puzzle, usually it tells u at Ahoy when it's about to start and how much time ye have to do yer puzzle 3. Compitions usually take up to 30 mins, if they are more then one puzzle then it's an hour or more 4. To do the puzzle the best way is go to navy. click on the mission and pick the one ye wanna do and do it for the time period 5. Not everyone one will win. Only the top FOUR(4) will win. 6.That's all ye need to know to compete in the PP Olympics. HAVE FUN =p

Thank you, Caips. I had done just that, actually, before I posted earlier. I joined the gunnery competition (under Ahoy) and then gunned with the navy for 30 minutes. I was confused because there was no confirmation anywhere that I was actually competing, and once I had 'competed' the standings page still said that I had not yet participated. To add to the frustration, the news section of the notice board linked to pages which supposedly contained instructions and a games schedule, but in fact featured neither. I'm still confused by the "you have not yet participated" nonsense, but thanks for explaining.

man!!!! what a bunch of @#@$@!!! sorry for that man we dont even know what we need the do to win and the tell use to do the puzzle shees there should be like 1 peson for the best mark and like 5 for the worst and on not ohh you wornt good enouge or you dint do it right! enyway the dont even give information! god! and so much lag as well! man when they put a chalenge they shud get a ship big enouge or more then 1 ship that we go on otomatecley like with the navy and stuff so we can do the puzzle without worrying if we are doing it right or wrong this is non sense!!! and some explanation would help to!!! sheesh!!!
