A Pirate Carol!
Show the brigands the error of their ways!
The brigands and barbarians have garlic in their soul this season, so it's up to all the ocean's pirates to beat some holiday cheer into them in this new Competition! From now until the 5th of January, everyone's been turned into a ghost of holidays past, present or future! Load up a ship using the newly revamped Notice Board and take to the seas, earning points for your team for every piece of eight you wrest from the hands of the miserly brigands!
There are trophies in store for all participants, and particularly nice ones for the highest-scoring team, so get out there and get some serious haunting done!
Humbug!
In a related note, the high rate of haunted brigands has led to an equally high rate of Top Hats flying off of their heads in surprise. The Palace Shoppe has managed to acquire a healthy supply of these surplus hats and are making them available for sale! There's good news for pirates with a more... exotic fashion sense, as well: the Top Hats are available for sale in a variety of colors! Your dream of showing up for a New Year's pillage wearing a lurid, lime green monstrosity on your head could very soon be a reality!
Act fast, though, because the Top Hat supply will disappear along with the competition!

Best competition ever! I love it when you don't put those boring parlor ones ... lol Even better than the Halloween competition where we had to score wins on pillies cause of its beautiful theme! Way to go!

If ye can't figger out how to switch from a ghastly figure to a normal pirate, or vice versa, I'll tell ye. Go to y'er options menu, and check/uncheck 'enable special event effects'. Woo. BOO! Haarrr...

Go to the competitions tab and in the box, it will say "You Are A Member of the Team Ghost of _______" of something to that effect.
