Forage Against the Machine!

The latest release brings significant change to one aspect of the Puzzle Pirates economy: Henceforth, Pirates will use the new Foraging Puzzle to extract wild fruits, gems, and gold nuggets from the uninhabited Islands they visit.

Foraging Puzzle
Skillfully maneuver baskets to the bottom of the puzzle to collect delicious fruit!

That's right! A new Puzzle! Knowledgeable Pirates will notice some similarity with the other "extractive" puzzles we have deployed (Bilge and Treasure Haul). However, there are several significant differences in Foraging. Perhaps the biggest is that scoring for the Puzzle is based exclusively on clearing the baskets of tasty goodness that you'll find as you forage an Island for it's natural treasures. So the Puzzle takes a little more planning to make sure you don't strand a big ol' bucket of gold on the board.

But beware! As was the case before the release, Foraging is a laborious activity and will consume its allotment of Piratey labor hours, so don't leave one of those baskets uncollected! It would be a terrible waste and yer captain only pays on results! If you'd like a chance to learn the ropes, the Puzzle has a practice version that you can play any time yer ship reaches uninhabited land.

Be on the look out for some of the more surprising aspects of the Puzzle. Those uninhabited islands are treacherous: Killer ants! Earthquakes! and even a surprisingly clean monkey or two. Keep yer head and have the right tools to hand. You'll have a machete and a shovel to help you clear a path to riches.

As many Pirates have noted, Foraging has a special place in the game: It's an important way to feed wealth into the economy in a way that encourages sailing from Island to Island. We hope that the new Puzzle encourages more Pirates to get out and see the strange and wild Islands on their Ocean!

Congratulations you succeeded in producing the worst puzzle ever. I'll probably never forage again.
Its never ever worth the time and trouble . Far easier to just sign on to work at a shop and let the poe roll in on their own, mind you the money working in shops is lousy too. Thats why no one wants to work in them and stall owners can't get labour any more.
Hmmm ... maybe this game DOES mirror the real life economy - thats going down the drain too!

I happen to like the forage puzzle. Too bad pineapples aren't worth basic labor yet. I'm still totally willing to play for free, though.

As far as the labor alts go, they'll come back once the shininess wears off. For my part, I'm only playing on mains, thus leaving my well-tanned army clear to build your ships. >.>

The new puzzle is fantastic, I love the sounds and the monkeys, and the combos have interesting shapes that are subtly different from the bilge/TH ones.

My only complaint is that the... dark brown ones look too much like the... other dark brown ones with a bit of green on them. The other pieces have great contrast, but I'm still finding myself mistakenly trying to match the wrong browns together.

Funny referrece to Rage Against The Machine... lol.
Now, right to the point. The first thing that came to my mind when I heard about a foraging puzzle was... what if people liked it too much? The stall owners wouldn't get enough labor. Maybe if this happened, would there be a possibility of creating a "Foraging Badge"? I'd hate having to buy one, but I think that'd solve the problem. Another solution would be "Labor Alting". Anyway, maybe it's just me. Maybe It'll be just like before.

Loving the new puzzle. Hope the labour issue can be fixed though - it gets quite annoying when I use up all my shop labour hours on foraging :/

Foraging.....pffffff

I enjoy the puzzle, but the labor consumption rate is a tad ludcirous!!!! Might be better if the foraging puzzle had its own labour rate seperate from the other puzzles.

Yeah, I love the puzzle, but it's silly that you can only forage like 3 times before you run out of available hours

The best damn thing is : the forage game needs Labor badge to play!
I just want some free days to play that game and don't like spending money to buy a Labor (it's stupid because of counting CALENDAR days!)

I like the foraging puzzle. I haven't exactly seen first-hand how this affects the economy though...

I only foraged gold ONCE ever with this puzzle, yet I managed to pillage gold FOUR times off enemy brigands. Yup, looks like I'm still a pillage maniac. <33

I agree that the foraging hours are killing stalls. The pay is not that great at foraging, yet our shops are hemmorhaging workers and production times are getting longer across Midnight (the ocean I play). I see "A long time" for the time estimate - much more often than before. I think foraging hours and employment hours should be separated - gives pirates more things they can do in their time on PP. My biggest complaint is the lack of pillaging jobs since the foraging puzzle rolled out. All of the jobs are for foraging. Where are all the pillies?!?

Okay, Well I love the new puzzles but honestly....

Malachite is getting creamed, I think there is a captain out there who doesn't think so. So show us some green and sen us the greenies

Btw, I had a bit of trouble doing the math hope it was okay If I used my Textbook, I'm from Egypt after all!

I tried this game and I love it! It's one of the best and you get paid!

Look out for the pirate Rosabell, with her rat Rose. Say hey!
