Today, we're following up our first pillaging release from mid-March with the release of Expeditions, the second part of our pillaging spring cleaning.
Expeditions add a relatively simple optional step to some of your pillages: After a successful battle, you may now also pillage prized information from the cabin of a defeated brigand captain. This information, in the form of a page from the captain's journal, will provide you with the details of treasures previously found (or hidden!) by the defeated brigand crew.
To start with, you'll now be able to:
All the more Pieces of Eight for you! Yarr!
We will, of course, be adding additional expeditions over time. That is, if we can think of anything else as piratey as digging fer treasure and plundering the booty-laden vessels of unsuspecting merchants!
As previously mentioned, we decided to break the Spring Cleaning release into three parts. Thanks to your feedback since the first pillaging update, we're also making a number of minor additional changes to payouts with this release. You can learn about these changes here.
The first pillaging update focused on making payouts clearer. The second release focuses on providing some variety to the puzzles and type of experiences involved in a pillage. We also hope expeditions create a break in sailing where the crew of a ship can interact more directly.
We invite you to log on and see for yourself how Expeditions work!
And remember, there's more to come! The third part of our pillaging Spring clean will be released within weeks.
