The Pirate Summer Games are now in full-swing, and although we've seen tremendous participation so far, it seems a few of you are still a bit confused about how the Games actually work. I suspect ye soft noodley types have been spendin' a wee too much time with the rum bottle, but we'll go over the Games once again for good measure!
Teams
You're randomly assigned to one of five teams, each named after a different Greek mythological beast: Cyclops, Gorgon, Cerberus, Hydra, and Minotaur. Check the competition tab on the notice board to see your team assignment.
"I don't like my team, can I change?" No, and quit yer whining! You should accept your team with open-arms (but no scratching with that hook-arm!) and fight as hard as you can!
Scoring
You can score points for your team in one-on-one battles or by winning any number of Puzzle Competitions (see schedule below).
To score points in one-on-one battles, challenge anyone on an opposing team to a game of Swordfighting, Rumble, Treasure Drop, or Drinking. Win the battle and score points for your team!
Puzzle Competitions
You can also score BIG points for your team by participating in the daily Puzzle Competitions.
You'll receive notice in your Ahoy Panel that a Puzzle Competition is starting; click join to enter yourself in the competition.
You must play the puzzle in the competition at least once — so if you enter yourself in a Bilging competition, find yourself a bilge station and start pumpin'! Only your highest score will be entered in the challenge, so puzzle as much as you like before your time is up!
Events Schedule
Puzzle Competitions are broken up into two parts — The Festival of Piracy and Final Events. During the Festival of Piracy, prizes will be awarded to players based on rank: so the top incredible, top excellent, top good and top fine players will all receive prizes. During the Final Events, the competition stiffens: prizes will only be awarded to the top four players, regardless of rank.
View the full events schedule here: Festival of Piracy, Final Events.
Now enough readin' already! To the Games!
