After July 14th 2014, the iPad version of Puzzle Pirates will no longer be supported or updated. It will be removed from the Apple App Store shortly after this date.
We had hoped that the iPad would help introduce the Puzzle Pirates to a whole new audience of players, and that ultimately, we would be using the same new user interface and code for both the PC and the iPad. After adding content in parallel to both the classic PC client and the iPad version for almost a year now, it has become clear that it won’t be possible to maintain and develop Puzzle Pirates for the iPad and still continue to add new features to the core game. This was an ambitious project, and we’ve learned a great deal from it, but based on the game’s reception on the iPad, it no longer makes sense to devote additional resources to it.
We realize that some players have really enjoyed the iPad version. Any player who has acquired currency or items from the iPad version of the game can still continue to play with their pirates and treasure intact on the classic PC client.
